Service Development Officer – Dr Gill Hall
I obtained my pharmacy degree from Bradford University and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Sunderland Polytechnic, then I took up my career in community pharmacy. I kept my links with academia for several years working as a part-time visiting lecturer at Sunderland University.
I worked in my native North East in various pharmacies, both as a manager and as a locum. During this time I completed a Clinical Diploma in Community Pharmaceutical Care with the University of Brighton.
My husband’s work brought the family to Staffordshire in 2001, and since then I have worked as a locum community pharmacist in small independent pharmacies and, until 2012, as a relief pharmacist for Boots.
I joined the LPC in August 2011 as a CCA representative and was delighted to be employed by the LPC two and a half days a week as service development officer from June 2012.
I have been a tutor for CPPE since 2009, delivering continuing professional development training events to Pharmacists, Pre-Registration Pharmacists and Registered Pharmacy Technicians across Staffordshire and Shropshire.
In my spare time I like to keep fit; I enjoy yoga, swimming, cycling, hill walking and recently joined the gym and found it was great fun to pump some iron (in very small amounts)! I am married with one grown up, triathlon mad, son. Not to be left out, I completed the Derby sprint distance triathlon in September 2012.
