Healthy Living Champion Training Burton Tuesday June 6th 2017
Tuesday, 6 June, 2017 9.30 registration. Event 10am to 5pm
The Training Room, Dean & Smedley Ltd 65 Horninglow Road Burton-on-Trent Staffordshire DE14 2PP
We are delighted to announce a new date for Healthy Living Champion Training.
This is a full Day Event including the RSPH assessment.
The training will support front-line community pharmacy support staff, a key part of the wider public health workforce, in “making every contact count”, enabling them to improve their understanding of the principles of prevention and public health and to create meaningful action plans within their workplaces to address the health and well-being priorities of their local population, in a pro-active health promoting culture and environment.
The training will take the form of one-day’s face-to-face training and assessment. The RSPH Level 2 award covers:
- Inequalities in health
- How effective communication can support health messages
- Importance of promoting improvements in health and well-being
- Impact of behaviour change on health and well-being
The training is free to attend, however we are unable to provide lunch so please ask your trainee to either bring lunch with them or to be aware they will need to purchase something during the short lunch-break. We will provide tea and coffee throughout the day.
This training is not for pharmacists, it is for front-line support staff who will deliver public health messages to people visiting your pharmacy and look after the health zone etc.
It is expected that pharmacists are already fully aware of the need for public health messages etc and the Healthy Living Champion is someone to help you make your Healthy Living Pharmacy a healthier place for people to visit.
Lloyds and Tesco pharmacy teams should not attend – this is because your company is arranging training in-house.
The venue will be: The Training Room, Dean & Smedley Ltd, 65 Horninglow Road, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 2PP
Registration and coffee at 9.30, Training to run 10am to 5pm
You will need to photo-ID (passport or driving licence) as proof of identity which is needed in order to be able to sit the exam. Please also bring paper and a pen to take notes.
Places are limited to one per pharmacy: please note that the LPC has received funding from HEE to support this training; by booking onto this session you agree that if you fail to attend without notifying us, we may invoice you for the cost of the training (£75 per delegate).
