Free Sensory Impairment Training – Stafford

January 4, 2018

As part of the work the LPC is undertaking in developing local policies on Medicines Compliance Aids we had a session to find out more about the experience in accessing pharmaceutical services of those living with sensory impairment.
ASSIST provides support for people over 16 years of age who have hearing or vision loss, are deafblind, or who have an autism spectrum condition. They have very kindly agreed to provide two complimentary training sessions for 10 people at the Kingston Centre, Fairway Stafford ST16 3TW. The sessions will both last approximately 3 hours and will be arranged from 6.30pm to 9.30pm covering hearing impairment, visual impairment and deaf/blind impairment.
In addition to getting the training and an accreditation certificate, this will be an opportunity to assess what training will be required for the wider community pharmacy contractor network locally.
We are looking for five local pharmacists and five Healthy Living Champions to attend these sessions initially. Attendance at both sessions is essential as they are linked; we are seeking to get the sessions booked for late January and early February, and although we haven’t agreed the time interval between the two sessions, they are likely to be a fortnight apart.
To express an interest in taking part, please complete the form below no later than 14th January 2018. Dates will be announced as soon as possible after this.
