High-strength insulin warning stickers

High-strength insulin warning stickers

February 9, 2017

University Hospital North Midlands is now rolling out prescribing of high-strength insulin preparations; the LPCs are aware that this can pose a challenge for contractors in ensuring that the correct strength insulin is supplied and to assist we have purchased stickers which can be used to highlight these in your pharmacy refrigerators. The stickers are already in use within UHNM and we believe will contribute to ensuring patient safety in dispensing insulin products within community pharmacy.

We have started distributing them to most of our contractors; if you work for a multiple pharmacy please check with your line manager prior to using to ensure that they will meet the requirements of your Standard Operating Procedures; Boots pharmacies will not be receiving supplies until they have been cleared for use by the Superintendent’s Office.

If needed, we can put you in touch with our printer to obtain further supplies; a copy of the sticker can be found by clicking the link below.
