Sessional Clinical Pharmacists needed for Cannock practices

Sessional Clinical Pharmacists needed for Cannock practices

December 20, 2017

The Cannock Network of GPs (Cannock Practices Network) is seeking expressions of interest from local community pharmacy contractors to provide Clinical Pharmacist services to twelve practices in Cannock, Chadsmoor, Hednesford, Heath Hayes and Rawnsley; the pharmacists will provide the manpower required under a bid for funding that the Cannock Network of GPs has successfully made under phase two of the Clinical Pharmacists in GPs programme. The LPC have agreed once again to facilitate gathering EoIs from local contractors, and we see this as an excellent opportunity not just for the individual contractors and pharmacists but also in developing closer links between community pharmacies and GP practices locally.

The plan is to engage the equivalent of TWO full-time equivalent pharmacists (i.e. equal to a total of 20 half-day sessions per week) from local community pharmacies for a three year term. The relevant pharmacists MUST be already qualified as an Independent Prescriber (IP) OR currently training to achieve IP status and be expecting to achieve the qualification by the end of July 2018. Further training and development will be available to support those engaged, depending on the needs of practices and current areas of pharmacist competence and experience.’

The posts will be paid at mid-point Agenda for Change Band 7a. (£36,612).

If you need any further information on this opportunity, please contact the LPC in the first instance and they will put you in touch with me. To express an interest in applying for these posts, complete the form at the foot of this page, thanks.

Regards,
Clive
