Sessional Pharmacists for Cannock GP Practices

Sessional Pharmacists for Cannock GP Practices

August 31, 2017

Cannock Network of GPs are seeking expressions of interest from local community pharmacy contractors to provide Senior Clinical Pharmacist services to twelve practices in Cannock, Chadsmoor, Hednesford and Rawnsley; the pharmacists will provide the manpower required under a bid for funding that the Cannock Network of GPs will be making under phase two of the Clinical Pharmacists in GPs programme. The LPC have agreed once again to facilitate gathering EoIs from local contractors, and we see this as an excellent opportunity not just for the individual contractors and pharmacists but also in developing closer links between community pharmacies and GP practices locally.

The plan is to engage the equivalent of TWO full-time equivalent pharmacists (ie equal to a total of 20 half-day sessions per week) from local community pharmacies under a service level agreement (SLA) for a three year term; the relevant pharmacists MUST be qualified Independent Prescribers (IPs) or currently training to achieve IP status and expecting to achieve the qualification by the end of 2017. Further training and development may be available to support those engaged, depending on the needs of practices and current areas of pharmacist competence and experience.

If you are interested in taking part in this, we request that you complete the form below no later than noon on Friday 25nd September 2017

Please note – if you work for a multiple pharmacy please check with your line manager before completing the form – Lloyds Pharmacy will be handling this centrally so if you are a Lloyds pharmacist DO NOT complete the form.
