Vacancy for member representing Independent pharmacies – call for Expressions of Interest

Vacancy for member representing Independent pharmacies – call for Expressions of Interest

February 8, 2017

On 6th February SSLPC received and accepted the resignation of independent member Stacy Kelly who is moving on from community pharmacy in Tamworth to work in a GP practice in Sandwell – thus is no longer able to be a member of the Committee. The LPC is very grateful for Stacy’s contribution to the LPC and although has only been a member for 12 months has proved to be a valuable and respected member – we wish her well in her new role.

The procedure for filling this vacancy is specified in the LPC’s Constitution, and is as follows:

15.6. If the person to be appointed is to be representative of pharmacy contractors who are eligible to vote in an election, the Chief Officer shall notify such pharmacy contractors of the vacancy, and invite expressions of interest. Expressions of interest will be considered if they are received by the Chief Officer within 7 days of despatch of the notice. The Committee shall appoint the person who, in its opinion, is the most suitable, without holding an election.

15.7. The person so appointed shall hold office for the remainder of the period for which the member in whose place he is appointed would have been entitled to hold office.

We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from Independent Contractors, or their representatives, to fill this vacancy, which will run until the next Committee is elected by the end of March 2018.

Expressions of Interest have been mailed to all Independent contractors and must be received at the LPC office no later than close of business on Tuesday 14th February 2017.
