You can find information on the National Pharmacy Flu Jab Service on the PSNC website by following this link.  PSNC have lots of information including the SLA, PGD and a useful FAQ document plus a briefing on the flu service 2019-20

This is the information sent out locally by Andy Pickard at NHSE

Dear colleagues

Please find attached the Flu Service Spec and associated Flu Jab PGD for the community pharmacy flu vaccination service 2019/20. A summary of the key changes for this year are listed below;

• Notification of the patient having received a vaccination can no longer be sent to the patient’s GP practice by fax – see section 3.14 for the alternative methods that can be used

• Pharmacy contractors are no longer required to ask patients to complete a patient questionnaire after they have received a flu vaccination

• Claims for payments must now be made using the NHSBSA Manage Your Service (MYS) platform within 6 months of the activity taking place, or by 31 August 2020 whichever is the earlier – see section 7.2 for further details

• Payment per administered dose of vaccine has increased from £7.98 to £8.08; therefore, with the additional fee of £1.50 per vaccination, contractors will receive a total payment of £9.58 per dose of vaccine administered – see section 7.3 for further details

As in previous years we will be making the PharmOutcomes flu  module available to all contractors, so please record details of all flu vaccinations given via this module which will also allow you to send a secure electronic record of the consultation to the patients GP as detailed in the service specification.
