How to claim for services using PharmOutcomes

PharmOutcomes Service Modules

EHC: commissioned by Staffordshire Public Health

  1. Patient registration – complete once per patient
  2. EHC Consultation & Supply– complete for every consultation – generates consultation fee and payment for medication

OBSERVED CONSUMPTION: commissioned by Staffordshire Public Health; subcontracted by OneRecovery

  1. Pharmacy Sign Up Module – complete one per pharmacy
  2. Stage 1 Client Registration – complete once per client
  3. Stage 2 Supervision – complete once after last supply on Rx (or can be done in a batch at month end), generates payment for supervision then script submitted in normal way to claim payment for medication.

NEEDLE EXCHANGE: commissioned by Staffordshire Public Health; subcontracted by OneRecovery. NB; This service is available in pharmacies who have a contract with OneRecovery for Nx

  1. Client Registration – complete once per client
  2. Supply – complete once per client supply, generates payment.
  3. PharmOutcomes also triggers the annual retainer fee payment, paid in April each year.

COMMON AILMENTS: commissioned by NHS England

This was winter pressures funded service, originally called minor ailments

  1. Stage 1 Registration – complete once only for each patient.
  2. Stage 2 Consultation – detail of what was supplied. Generates payment

DOMICILIARY MUR: commissioned by Cannock Chase CCG

  1. Domiciliary MUR – Referral (Rugeley only) – completed by person referring the patient into the service
  2. Domiciliary MUR – Follow up (Rugeley only) – complete for each dom MUR completed, generates payment

HLP CONTINENCE SERVICE: funded by educational grants from Astellas and Pfizer

  1. Continence Advice Service – complete for every consultation, generates payment

MINOR AILMENTS PGDs: commissioned by NHS England

  1. Patient registration – complete once per patient
  2. Impetigo Stage 1 consultation – complete for every impetigo consultation – generates consultation fee
  3. Impetigo Stage 2 fusidic acid, fluclox or clarith – choose relevant module depending on drug supplied, generates payment for medication
  4. Trimethoprim PGD to treat uncomplicated UTI (females 16 yrs +) – complete for every UTI consultation, generates consultation fee plus payment for meds.

ALCOHOL SERVICE: commissioned by Stafford Borough Council

  1. Monthly Scratchcards -not included in Stage 1,2 or 3 – summary list – pharmacy simply adds in details of how many scratchcards used in a month which did not lead to paid part of service.
  2. Stage 1 – Brief Advice – complete when delivering first brief advice – generates payment
  3. Stage 2 -First Follow Up (4 week) – complete when delivering follow up– generates payment
  4. Stage 3 – Second Follow Up (8 week) – complete when delivering follow up– generates payment

SMOKING CESSATION SERVICE: subcontracted from Together4Health

Smoking Cessation NRT Voucher Scheme

All Pharmacies in Staffordshire can accept these vouchers

  1. NRT Voucher – Client registration – complete once per client
  2. NRT Voucher – Transaction – complete for every supply – generates payment for product(s) plus handling fee

Smoking Cessation Advisor Service (For those pharmacies with a contract to provide advisor service)

  1. Smoking Cessation – Patient Recruitment – complete once per client
  2. Smoking Cessation – Pre-Quit Assessment- complete once per client
  3. Smoking Cessation – Supply NRT (Must record at each supply) – generates payment for NRT product(s)
  4. Smoking Cessation – Week 4 Evaluation – complete once per client.  Must Must be recorded within 25 to 42 days of quit date to be a valid quit and you MUST record the 4 week quit for each client in order for payment to be made for their 12 week quit.
  5. Smoking Cessation Week 12 Evaluation – complete once per client – Must be recorded within 79 to 105 days of quit date to be a valid quit and completion of this module generates payment of fee.
  6. OR if client was pregnant during quit attempt record final assessment on Smoking Cessation Woman – Pregnancy Post Delivery evaluation
